What does it actually mean to live with Jesus not just as Savior, but as Lord over every part of your life?

As we wrap up our Christmas series Emmanuel, we turn from God with us to what it means for Christ to be over us. In Philippians 2:5–11, the apostle Paul shows us that the Christian life isn’t fueled by self-effort, but by resting in the mind of Christ: the One who humbled himself, took on flesh, obeyed the Father even to death, and is now exalted as Lord over all.

This sermon explores how Jesus’ humility leads to his exaltation, why submission to Christ is not a loss but a gift, and how seeing Jesus as Lord reshapes our identity, our community, and the way we step into a new year. Christ is not distant or inactive—he reigns now, and his lordship is the foundation of our hope, unity, and joy.
