Colossians 3:18-4:1
Is Jesus really worth centering every aspect of our lives upon? Paul has spent the letter to the Colossians making one claim again and again: Jesus is enough. In Colossians 3:18–4:1, he shows why Christ is the only foundation strong enough to meaning and peace to every part of life.
As Paul applies the gospel to marriage, parenting, and work, we see that Christ doesn’t just give guidance for those in positions of weakness or strength—He reshapes both. Jesus strengthens the weak so they don’t have to fight for control, humbles the strong so power isn’t abused, and offers a lasting inheritance that no earthly reward can provide.
When Christ is at the center, our relationships aren’t driven by fear, self-preservation, or performance. Instead, everything we do—at home, at work, and in everyday life—can be done “as for the Lord,” rooted in the security of what He has already accomplished for us in the gospel.
