Pre-Service Reflection

We invite you to reflect on this selection of quotes as we prepare our hearts and minds for worship.

“Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.”

William Cowper
"God Moves in a Mysterious Way"

“You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”

Augustine

All My Boast Is In Jesus
Keith & Kristyn Getty, Matt Boswell, Matt Papa

Expand for Lyrics

What wonder of wonders, what love is this
That Christ would die for me
His goodness, His merit, His righteousness
This sinner's only plea

O foolish pride, be crucified
The work is finished

All my boast is in Jesus
All my hope is His love
And I will glory forever
In what the cross has done

Now fully forgiven, my life is filled
With graces undeserved
For mercy that flowed down that sacred hill
Let praises now return

Rise up, my soul, and bless the Lord
Who else is worthy?

All my boast is in Jesus
All my hope is His love
And I will glory forever
In what the cross has done

O praise the One forever blessed
Him alone my heart adores
And I will boast in nothing less
Than the love of Christ, my Lord

O praise the One forever blessed
Him alone my heart adores
Oh, and I will boast in nothing less
Than the love of Christ, my Lord

I boast not in riches, in strength, or might
But in the grace of God
I glory in weakness, to live is Christ
In plenty or in want

That I may know, that all may see
His pow'r within me

All my boast is in Jesus
All my hope is His love
And I will glory forever
In what the cross has done

Now I stand in this freedom
Ransomed, clean in His sight
Oh, and I cannot be ashamed for
My boast is Jesus Christ

My boast is Jesus Christ
Forever my boast is Jesus Christ

Congregational Prayer

Each one of us has come today carrying different burdens and anxieties, which might make it challenges to focus on the God and his Word. Here at the beginning of our worship service, we take a few moments to read a Psalm together, meditating on who God is, and praying through his attributes that we find in the passage. Tap on the tabs below as we read together and spend a few moments in a guided time of praying in reverence, response, requests, and readiness.

Psalm 131

131 A Song of Ascents. Of David.
1 O Lord, my heart is not lifted up;
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvelous for me.
2 But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother;
like a weaned child is my soul within me.

3 O Israel, hope in the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore.

Scripture-Led Prayer

Based on the attributes of God we see in this Psalm, close your eyes and complete these sentences as you pray in your heart to him:

First, we come to him in reverence. Finish this sentence in your prayer right now: “I praise you that you alone are able to make sense of …

Next, we move to our response to the goodness we see of God as we surrender to him and his ways. Finish this sentence as you continue to pray: “Forgive me for taking so long to trust you with …

Now, we present our requests to God, asking his Spirit to guide our prayers over the concerns we have. Once again, finish this sentence in prayer: “Enable me to hope in you so deeply that I no longer worry about …

Finally we ask for readiness and strength as we continue to live for Jesus. As we close this time, spend the next few moments finishing this last sentence in prayer: "I am determined to surrender and let you have your way today as I ..."

O Most High, King of the ages
Great I AM, God of wonders
By the blood You have redeemed us
Led us through mighty waters
Our strength, our song, our sure salvation

Now to the Lamb upon the throne
Be blessing, honor, glory, power
For the battle You have won
Hallelujah
Amen

O Most High, dwelling among us
Son of Man sent for sinners
By Your blood You have redeemed us
Spotless Lamb, mighty Savior
Who lived, who died, who rose victorious

Now to the Lamb upon the throne
Be blessing, honor, glory, power
For the battle You have won
Hallelujah

With every tribe and every tongue
We join the anthem of the angels
In the triumph of the Son
Hallelujah
Amen

O Most High, King of the nations
Robed in praise, crowned with splendor
On that day who will not tremble?
When You stand, Christ the Victor
Who was, and is, and is forever

Now to the Lamb upon the throne
Be blessing, honor, glory, power
For the battle You have won
Hallelujah

With every tribe and every tongue
We join the anthem of the angels
In the triumph of the Son
Hallelujah
Amen

Amen, amen, amen
Amen, amen, amen
Amen, amen, amen

Now to the Lamb upon the throne
Be blessing, honor, glory, power
For the battle You have won
Hallelujah

With every tribe and every tongue
We join the anthem of the angels
In the triumph of the Son
Hallelujah
Amen
Sing the victory of the Lamb
Hallelujah
Amen

For my waking breath
For my daily bread
I depend on You

For the sun to rise
For my sleep at night

You’re the way the truth and the life
You’re the well that never runs dry

I’m the branch and You are the vine
Draw me close and teach me to abide

Where the Spirit leads
As I’m following
I depend on You
I depend on You

For the victories
Still in front of mе
I depend on You
I depеnd on You

You’re the way the truth and the life
You’re the well that will never run dry

I’m the branch and You are the vine
Draw me close and teach me to abide

Be my strength, my song in the night
Be my all, my treasure my prize

I am Yours, forever You’re mine
Draw me close and teach me to abide

When I pass through death
As I enter rest
I depend on You
I depend on You

For eternal life
To be raised with Christ
I depend on You

Scripture Reading

16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, 17 got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. 18 The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. 20 But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” 21 Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

Prayer for Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church

Each week we pray for one of the churches or ministries that we get to serve alongside as part of the Northshore Gospel Network (NGN). We helped start NGN in August 2025 with a mission to provide encouragement, support, and collaboration among churches in multiple denominations as we share the good news of Jesus with every man, woman, and child across the Northshore.

Time of Response

Having looked into the Scriptures and considering Jesus, we are led to respond to who he is and what he has done. Below are three common areas of response

Commitment

Are you interested in placing your faith in Jesus as a new believer? Proclaiming your faith through baptism? Do you have questions or things you would like to meet with a pastor and discuss? You can come talk to a pastor during our time of response, take a minute to speak after the service, or fill out the Connect Card at the link below, and we'll follow up with you this week.

Communion

One of the ways we respond to the preaching of Scripture most weeks is by celebrating communion (also known as the Lord's Supper). During this time of response, all followers of Jesus are invited to come forward to the table on either side of the room and take one cup that has both the bread and juice, representing the body of Christ broken for us and the blood of Christ shed for us. We partake of the meal to remember our ongoing need for a Savior, our overflowing provision through Christ, and to be spiritually nourished by him through his Holy Spirit.

*This meal is only for those who have repented of their sin and placed their faith in the finished work of Jesus. If you are still exploring faith and are not a Christian, then we encourage you to spend this time in prayer, continuing to read Scripture, or joining our church in singing.

Contribution

One of the ways we respond to Christ giving himself for us is that we also give through his church. Giving is meant to be an act of worship because of what God's grace, not a legalistic way we earn God's grace. If you consider Restoration your church home, then you are welcome to give by placing your offering in the designated box in the lobby or online through the link below.

Jesus is Better

There is no other so sure and steady
My hope is held in Your hand
When castles crumble and breath is fleeting
Upon this rock I will stand
Upon this rock I will stand

Glory glory we have no other King
But Jesus Lord of all
We raise the anthem our loudest praises ring
We crown Him Lord of all

Your kindly rule has shattered and broken
The curse of sin's tyranny
My life is hidden 'neath Heaven's shadow
Your crimson flood covers me
Your crimson flood covers me

Glory glory we have no other King
But Jesus Lord of all
We raise the anthem our loudest praises ring
We crown Him Lord of all

In all my sorrows Jesus is better
Make my heart believe
In ev'ry vict'ry Jesus is better
Make my heart believe
Than any comfort Jesus is better
Make my heart believe
More than all riches Jesus is better
Make my heart believe
And our souls declaring Jesus is better
Make my heart believe
And our song eternal Jesus is better
Make my heart believe

Glory glory we have no other King
But Jesus Lord of all
Glory glory we have no other King
But Jesus Lord of all

We raise the anthem our loudest praises ring
We crown Him Lord of all
We crown Him Lord of all
